We owe a great deal of the modern attempt to discipline the cultural study by the Center for Contemporary Cultural Studies in Birmingham University of UK. It seems as though the effort to establish it as a field of study has not been easy due to it’s interdisciplinary and fluid in nature. The idea of meaning, interpretation and truth seems to take up much of the current epistemological debate. However, careful application of both quantitative and qualitative methods can clarify many questions on culture.
